Installing Kit on your child’s device
Having kids access their Kit account on their iPad, tablet or phone is a great way to encourage independent money management.
Before you install the Kit app
- Ensure that the device is registered to Australia.
- Ensure that the device is supported. Kit supports devices running iOS 14.5+ and Android 9+.
- Your child’s device will need to be password protected – this is a security requirement of Kit.
To install the app
- Download the Kit app onto their phone or tablet.
- Tap ‘Log in’.
- Enter your email address and password.
- On the ‘Who’s there’ screen, the child can select their profile.
- The child can enter their profile by entering their 4-digit Access Code.
Note: The app will ask you to log in again approximately once every 6 months.
Enable push notifications on your child's device
If you would like your child to receive reminders to tick off their chores before PayDay, firstly ensure that notifications are enabled on your child’s device.
Then, enable child notifications from within the Kit app. As the Boss:
- From the Boss overview, click on the row with the image of the Card to go to your kid’s Spend screen.
- Tap on the Manage button, then toggle ‘Kit can send [Child’s name] push notifications’.
- You may turn this on or off at any time.
Note: If the device is shared between children, notifications are only sent to the last profile that was logged in.
Can my child access my Boss profile or their siblings’ profiles?
While they can see the account avatars on the ‘Who’s there?’ screen, profiles are protected by the Boss Code or Access Codes.
Children are unable to view each other's accounts, unless they share their Access Code, or they remain logged into their profile on a shared device.
