To link an account, the Boss must be an authorised operator of a Youthsaver account and have the CommBank and Kit apps on the same device.
You can link an existing Youthsaver account or open a new Youthsaver for your child from within the Kit app. You can link one or more Youthsaver accounts to your child’s profile.
Part 1: Start linking process
- Open the Kit app.
- Enter the Boss profile.
- Tap on the menu icon.
- Tap ‘Linked Youthsaver accounts’.
- Tap ‘Let’s go.’
- You will be asked if you have an existing account to link.
- If you do not have an existing account, you can create a new account. Follow the prompts to open a Youthsaver account before continuing with Part 2. Find out more about Youthsaver.
- If there is a Youthsaver account you would like to link but you are not the authorised operator of that account, you must first become an authorised operator.
- If you are the authorised operator of a Youthsaver account, continue with Part 2.
Part 2: Consent to share Youthsaver account details with Kit
To proceed, you must have both CommBank and Kit apps on the same device.
- From the Kit app, tap the button ‘Open CommBank app to share’. If you do not see this button, follow the steps in Part 1 above.
- The CommBank app will launch. Follow the prompts to share Youthsaver details with Kit. (Find out more about data sharing with Kit.)
- You will be redirected back to the Kit app once done.
If you do not see the account you would like to share in the CommBank app, you may not be the authorised operator of the account. You must first become an authorised operator of that account.
Part 3: Link the account to a Kit kid profile
After you have consented for CommBank to share Youthsaver details with Kit, you must link the account with your child’s profile in Kit.
- In the Kit app, you will see a list of Youthsaver accounts that have been shared with Kit. If you do not see these accounts, follow steps 1-4 in Part 1 above.
- Tap ‘Link to a Kit kid profile’ and follow the prompts to assign the account to a child.
- Repeat the steps for each Youthsaver account until all accounts have been linked.
After linking the account to your child’s profile, they will be able to see it in the Stack section in their kid profile, and transfer funds to it with your permission.
You can edit and remove the account from Kit at any time.
Am I getting a special interest rate by opening a Youthsaver through Kit?
No, there is no special offer or increased interest rate offered by opening a Youthsaver account via Kit.
Any reference to 'bonus interest’ means the bonus interest that CommBank offers on all their Youthsaver accounts when the balance is increased by the end of the month (excluding bank initiated transactions ).
