Why do I need to provide a photo of my ID and my face?

account safe, as well as prevent unauthorised account openings. The photo of the ID is compared with a live photo of your face to ensure it is you using your ID details. Technology for account verification has evolved over time, so while you may not have done this before, this technology is currently used by multiple banks in Australia for opening new accounts.
